Submitting your paper

The proceedings of the Dislocations 2008 will be published in the Open Access IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) which is published by the IOP Publishing in the UK.

All papers published in IOP Conference Series are fully citable and upon publication will be free to download.

Preparing your paper

IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e according to the journal guidelines and templates. Instructions on preparing your paper, together with Microsoft Word and LaTeX2e templates, can be downloaded from the MSE website.

Page limit. Invited talk: 10 pages, contributed talk/poster presentations: 6 pages.

What you need to provide

  • The PDF file of your paper: when preparing their papers, authors are kindly requested to ensure that they follow the minimum basic requirements from the Conference Series guidelines. Full details are available online, but as a minimum authors should:
    • Use either European A4 or US Letter sized paper with at least a 25mm white space margin all around the page.
    • Ensure that the paper includes an abstract, however brief.
    • Not add any page numbers, headers or footers to the article as these will be added during the publication process.
  • Any multimedia files you wish to publish online
    • MSE encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles. Multimedia guidelines are included with the Word and LaTeX2e templates.
  • A signed Assignment of Copyright Form
    • The Assignment of Copyright Form is included in the Word and LaTeX2e templates. You can send it electronically to your Conference Organizer (as a PDF) by scanning the printed and signed form.

Submitting your paper

Authors should supply their papers directly to their Conference Organizer, using the electronic form at the bottom of this page After peer review, the Organizer will supply the accepted papers to MSE. Please do not send your papers directly to MSE.
